Organize or Die! The Theme From our 38th Annual Convention

Carpenters Local 1503 represents members of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters living in Oregon and Southwest Washington. As such, it is the local chapter of a membership organization founded in 1881 to provide for the united representation of carpenters with employers, the creation of workplace protections, the provision of fair wages/conditions/benefits, the improvement of the trade, and provision of a competent/trained workforce working effectively with employers in mutually beneficial commerce.

Carpenters' Local 1503 meets monthly to manage its business, exchange information, share member concerns and proactively support joint action in our communities. The meetings are open to invited guests and members in good standing and are conducted in accordance with Robert's Rules of Order and the Constitution and ByLaws of the UBC.

Membership in Carpenters Local 1503 is open to all qualified individuals desiring to improve their employment condition and willing to honor the traditions, standards and obligations of our organization. We recognize that new members may join our membership at different career stages and bring with them a variety of professional experiences.
